Adi Andry Kessler studied art for 4 years at The Artways School of Art in Harduf and was influenced by Axel Ewald [PhD], founder and director of the training there. Another prime, dominant influence derives from his life in Harduf and the Anthroposhophic way of life and thinking.

Following his art studies, Kessler studied architectural engineering and worked in the profession at various firms for more than 5 years. Prior to that Kessler had completed a carpentry training course, offered by the Israeli Ministry of Labour and worked for 7 years constructing gardens and water pools.

Kessler has been working in his Harduf studio for almost 10 years, using various and changing techniques.

In his work Kessler aspires to combine disciplines and techniques emphasizing elements of manual labor. He has been working with matter alongside more progressive technologies (architecture software, laser cutting and CNC). Combined, this has enabled a unique discovery of diverse realms – a revelation of language, technique and image.

Obviously many other influences – especially philosophical – have played a part over the years, driving Kessler in all his endeavours to search for the poetic, for inspiration and its spaces, for art which constitutes the transition to the physical. This search may be denoted spiritual or a search for a universal source, a quest for that common thread which interweaves everything in this world.

The hope is that such a quest may yield a bridge or an illustration of a bridge, on which others may build or cross over to more poetic places. For the poetic and the beautiful, through our love to it, connect us with everything that is. When we love, we care for ourselves, and for our surroundings.
